Installing vRops management pack for NSX is easy as all other management packs.

First, download the management pack from VMware market place (VMware Solution Exchange). To do so, search for “management pack for NSX”. At the time of writing the latest version is on https://marketplace.vmware.com/vsx/solutions/management-pack-for-nsx-for-vsphere-3-5-1

Click try button and log in using your credentials. Make sure you check the compatibility before install / configure for your environment.

Once it gets downloaded, install the management pack (extension .pak). To do so, log in to the vROps Environment, go to Administration tab and then Solution (it gets selected by default). Click ‘+’ to add new management pack.

Once ‘+’ get clicked, a pop-up window will appear and ask few question including the location of the management pack file. Browse and select the Management pack file. Tick appropriate checkbox/es and hit upload.

The upload job will verify the management pack signature. Then select next, agree with the EULA and hit the next button.

The finish button will get activated after installed get completed successfully. Hit finish to complete the installation task.

To Configure, select the “Management Pack for NSX…” management pack from installed solution and click the ‘gear’ sign on top of the section.

A popup will appear and ask you about the environment information. Provide the appropriate information on it.

For credential, if it is the first installation, hit the ‘+’ sign next to credential text box. The new pop-up will asks for NSX Manager CLI account (here is how to create an NSX CLI Account) and a vCenter account detail.

Please make sure to hit the save button after the test gets successful.

Once completed, Go to Dashboard tab and check for NSX-vSphere dashboards.
